Moving On

Moving on

We saw the setup of Retired but Active going ahead in 3 phases

Proof of concept
To see who would be interested, try out different layouts and software options, focus on a few key areas
Content build
Having chosen the software and the approach, to build up content to at least 100 pages and employ CSS to boost daily hit rates above 1,000 per day
We also wanted 5 - 6 regular contributors and the same number of active interest areas
Going commercial
by which we meant paying the bills and having money available to run member competitions and attract content with prizes

We thought a target of about 5,000 hits/day with 5+ average page views per hit would do the job.

We are well on our way through phase 2 but we have decided that we need to launch a revenue drive to pay for some professional SEO (the ghastly business of appearing on the first pages of web-searches) and to run the first competitions on the site.

So

.. we're going to have an ebay auction, inviting people and companies to sponsor the prizes

What do you think?
