On the nature of spam

As RaA moves from the totally unknown to the 'getting to be known' we have to deal with a completely new issue - spam put on as either comments or guest book entries.

The software is set up so that it won't accept links from casual visitors to other sites. It's a pity to be sure but when it was open we were inundated with opportunities to buy viagra, or to download what in my youth were called 'dirty pictures' so we had to change the settings to prevent it.
In the process we prevented many innocent links but there you go.
No, the amazing thing is not the links which could have been predicted, but the gobbledegook that comes up. Appalling nonsensical stuff that wouldn't sell water in the desert, and all it seems in the hope of commercial gain.

Every morning we purge the site of unsightly rubbish - this morning's - minus the links reads as follows.

non-functioning the exceed - link removed - Clavamox for dogs medication from our Online somewhat at the easiest way. All sorts of medications at one's disposal and no waiting for doctors needed.Increase your fulness with our hugely regarded online pinjuryacy. keeping lots of on cloud nine and satisfied customers. No yacht to the doctor needed.Check out the largest multifariousness of procedure medications online. appropriate - another link removed - Clavamox justifiable and protected from your own placid to the lowest affordable prices.

The mind boggles!
