Days on the Clyde

Of course it didn't work. It was mounted on the wrong software (software that resided on the home computer whereas Drupal stands on the server where anyone with the right passwords can access it), aimed at the wrong audience, and it was as boring and static as hell.

Otherwise it was fine.

It was picked up by a great fellow, Kevin, a fellow of my own age and with my own love of sailing, and he arranged for us to have a long weekend of sailing in a friend (of his)'s Beneteau 42. If you've never sailed on the Clyde, then there's a huge hole in your life.

Over those four days we mapped out RbA, focussed it, and agreed to team up. He had better software than I and at the time I know nothing of HTML, CSS and the other nerdery of the internet, but he was a wizz.

Remember, at the time we still envisaged building the site page by page and having visitor's e-mail us with their stuff for us to put up on the site. At that time we hadn't found Drupal, of which much more later.

...to be continued...
