Hardly a day goes by without some horror story appearing in the press. One might almost think that the news media resent the 'new kid on the block' taking their audience and giving them news, opinion and social contact free, gratis and for nothing. ..but users bring it on themselvesThe teenagers and twenty-somethings who use sites like 'Facebook' bring it on themselves - it's like blaming the printing process for pornography. Anyway we all like a bit of vicarious danger if we're sure we're safe Retired and Active.. |

In support of Social Networking
It's no surprise that regimes that hate democracy also hate the internet.
At a time when our liberal ideals are under threat from terrorists and our own governments, the internet remains the only uncensored medium, free at the point of use ordinary folk can call their own
Community sites empower you. They demand no IT skills, no investment other than some of your time, and they allow thousands to hear your voice in a place it can't be shouted down.
By not using it to the full we do the censor's job for them.
